Re: London Restaurants
Heard Galvin Windows isn't all that now

I've realised if you want top food, do not go for a restaurant with a great view, because thats what you pay for.

Sushi Samba or the duck place on Heron Tower, hard to get a booking though.

Bar Bar Ricard is top, trendy place, not like this steak places

Can anyone recommend other good trendy places?

So much snobbery about restaurants as there is about wine

Galvin at Windows at the top of the Hilton, Park Lane (28th floor).

The views are fantastic. Spent the evening at the Bar there with the Mrs and wish we'd have booked for dinner.

Re: London Restaurants
To be fair, we were there in Christmas party season, which wouldn't have helped, but it was just unpleasant. The food certainly isn't worth the cost

Re: London Restaurants
Bit harsh Joe, see what you're saying overall but the steak is very good in there.

To be honest, the top gaffs are much of a muchness, in that they're all superb but pricey, if you're looking for something a bit cheaper Flat Iron is decent, maybe not up there with Hawksmoor but it won't rape your wallet.

Re: London Restaurants
STK is an awful, awful place. Went there last December, full of absolute pricks, music so loud you can hardly think let alone hear each other speak, and overpriced, poor quality food.

Give me a Hawksmoor any day

Re: London Restaurants
you'll love la chappelle
beautiful building, great food and service
tasting menu is superb - and you get a decent glass with matching wines so will come out wobbling

city social is very good at the moment as well - worth going into the bar for a drink before as chappelle has only got a tiny bar

two great places in one night and they are only a short hop in a cab apart from each other
